Ghost Pigs!
This is my concept and execution. I was inspired by the fact that my studio is in close proximity to a slaughter house. It gets pretty creepy there late at night. The mind tends to play tricks on you. I was thinking that if I encountered a ghost it would probably be a Ghost Pig and out popped the idea for this piece.
These were first available at Fan Expo. I plan on doing a maximum edition of 20. When I get a handful more cast I will open up my shop and have my first online sale. Stay tuned.
My designer toy label is having it’s debut at Fan Expo in Toronto right now! Come see us in Artist Alley at booth A218. I will post some close ups soon.

With all the talk of future heroes and ‘she’roes, we haven’t had the chance to celebrate the Rama figure, as much as we’d like. Let’s take a few minutes to show a bit of Rama in progress, as we were working the kinks out and trying to amplify his ‘heroic essence’.

I have reblogged some pictures of this project over the last couple weeks but haven’t really chimed in with an opinion.
The guys at the head of this project are Tucker and Wayne. They are both long time toy designers and are responsible for some of the most well balanced and creative toys of our generation. Their credits include Jurassic Park, Xevoz and G.I. Joe Sigma Six. I am not that familiar with Xevoz, but the other two are huge influences on the way I think about toys.
The toy industry is struggling. Due to production costs toys are getting smaller and less articulated. Original ideas and properties are disappearing because any risk of failure is seen as too great.
Tucker and Wayne clearly love toys. They want to continue to put their efforts towards creative, well designed, thoughtful, high quality and fun toys.
Their proposed line is a series of cultural heros from folklore around the world. They have turned to Kickstarter to fund this project. The first figure is Rama from the Ramayana, an Indian epic.
I adore this figure. It is done in a similar style and scale to the Sigma Six line. As soon as hold one of those figures in your hand you can tell it was built with care. The stylisation is at a perfect level to add flair to the design without dumbing down the heroism of the character.
They need our pledges to move forward with this. The momentum is slow right now, but there is still hope. Scroll down on my blog and check out the many images. Follow the links to the project page and donate some coin. For a $35 pledge you can get one of these figures and ensure their other designs will get produced too.

The beautiful Rama figure by Go Go Dynamo. If you want this figure and many other heroes from around the world, support the project on kickstarter!
The Hero Project is an endeavor from Tucker and Wayne from Dynamo Development Labs. The goal of these gentlemen is to fund a new action figure toyline, in the 8″ scale, pulling heroes from the annals of history. The Hero Project looks to earn some financial backing, enough to hopefully support this ambitious endeavor.

I will give my enthusiastic opinion on this project when I have a chance, but in the meantime here is a reblog.
And here’s your first real preview of the upcoming “There’s Always Money In The Banana Stand,” our art tribute to TV show “Arrested Development.” The piece above from Danielle Buerli is just the start and a good look into the amazing work being delivered for the exhibit, which opens June 29th at G1988 (Melrose) with an opening reception from 7-10 PM. Here’s a first look at some of the other pieces…

Yeah, it’s gonna be that good.
See you June 29th, next Friday, 7-10PM, at G1988 (Melrose), Motherboys.
I finally got them!
I loved the movie and really wanted to put together a team. Unfortunately the 4" ones just plain suck and the Hot Toys are far too expensive. These 6" Wal-Mart exclusives are an excellent compromise between the two.

A quick shot of a finished God bust. This will be one of my debut items at Fan Expo in Toronto this August. It is a collaboration with poster artist and sculptor Phil Woollam. He did the initial sculpt while I refined it to a smooth state and did all the molding, casting and finishing (with some paint assistance by Tara Krebs).
He’s about 8 inches tall, cast in resin, air brushed with cell vinyl paint and flocked.
Triple Crown of Yo-Yo mascot by Squibbles Ink, Rotofugi, Chris Ryniak, and Shinbone Creative.
This is looking good. I have no real interest in yo yo’s but they sure got together an awesome team to interpret their mascot. I’m going to try and score the painted version if it’s cool.
